The Hollywood film industry has a long history of casting white actors in roles that are historically meant for people of colour. White washing is a practice that “can be defined as a racist practice of removing visible minorities in popular media by making their skin appear lighter, or even replacing them altogether with white actors”.

Whitewashing perpetuates a cycle of ignorance and misrepresentation. I aim to provide a forum and space that people of colour feel represents their best interests, and also a place to engage in healthy discussion about whitewashing and diversity, while motivating people to take a stand against whitewashing in films through boycotting them.
